Basail Upazila Parishad consists of a Chairman, a Vice Chairman, a Male, a Female Vice Chairman, the Chairman of the Union Parishad, the Mayor of the Municipality and two reserved female seats. The posts of Chairman, Vice Chairman Male and Vice Chairman Female are elected by direct vote of the people.
